Hansi Flick will choose the team to face Sevilla according to suitability, taking into account the readiness of the players as the main factor.

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick will not confirm whether 17-year-old forward Lamine Yamal will start against Sevilla in Sunday’s La Liga clash after the player withdrew from the Spain squad through injury and returned to training with the team-mates, Diario Sport reports on Saturday. 

Yamal pick up the injury after the 1-0 win over Denmark, with Barcelona later falling out with the Spanish Football Federation, as the Spanish side wanted to use him for the game against Serbia, but the Blaugrana want him to return to the club to recuperate, and after a medical it was decide that the 17-year-old forward would withdraw from the international squad.

For Flick, who previously work as Germany’s national team coach, he understands the situation very well and the German boss has express sympathy for the Spanish Football Federation and coach Luis de la Fuente in their handling of Yamal’s situation.

‘I’ve been on the other side, the coach has done it before, he’s fine. When the players need a rest, they need a rest. The Spanish national team has a lot of good players and it’s not a problem if someone else plays.’

When ask if Yamal would play against Sevilla on Sunday ahead of two crucial games against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid,
